Burke Agro deals exclusively in fruit processing and packaging. Fresh fruit, grown in the sunny and marginalized regions of Nicaragua, is purchased directly from growers, processed, packed and stored during peak primary production. Only the ripest fruit is selected. Our dried fruit stands out from that of the competition as it is naturally preserved and has no additives or sugar. Our frozen fruit pulp is hand-processed and packed, providing more job opportunities to the local community.
Frozen Fruit Pulps: Frozen Packing: The varieties of the fruit are selected to ensure that they can be further processed into a tasty balanced food product with high natural nutritional value and a natural look and feel. The products can be eaten as a snack, used in a smoothie or can be added as an ingredient to other products (e.g. cereals). They are naturally preserved and have no additives or sugar. Solar dehydration provides an advantage over conventional electric, spray, gas or freeze methods as it naturally protects the delicate tastes and nutritional values of these fruits. By not adding sugar, ounce per ounce we pack 3-4 times the amount of fruit into a package than our competitors. They do it to raise their yields and profit margins while the consumer in the end is essentially buying candy. That in turn is not a healthy snack alternative like unsweetened solar dried fruit. The result nourishes the earth, body and soul. |
